Institutional Representatives

The role of institutional representatives is critical to the function of the ACE Network in Missouri. Each higher education institution that participates in the Missouri Network appoints an institutional representative.

Responsibilities of IRs include serving as their institution's official representative; participating in local, regional and statewide meetings; assisting the State Planning Committee as it develops programs and activities; establishing connections with other campus programs that focus on women; and enlisting the support of other women on campus.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Identifying women in administrative or leadership positions who should participate in Network activities and programs and encouraging participation.
  • Providing information to the state coordinator regarding new appointments, resignations, title changes and open positions.
  • Keeping women on campus informed of news and information provided by the national Network and the OWHE, as well as the state Network.
  • Establishing contact with women who have been or are in administration/leadership positions on campus and promoting the Network to them.
  • Keeping the institution's president informed of activities and programs as necessary.
  • Urging qualified women to apply for various administrative positions.
  • Serving as a mentor to aspiring women leaders.
  • Communicating in an advisory capacity with the State Planning Committee through various members and the state coordinator.
